Gas System
Gas systems are stored as a liquid, with nitrogen used to pressurise it, Stored as a pressurised gas, inert gases are usually a mix of nitrogen, argon and sometimes added Co2. When released the gas chemical agent has a chemical reaction with the fire and extinguishes it. This type of system is best suited to data rooms, switch rooms or communication rooms. To ensure that the gas system does not release the gas on a false alarm in event of situations like dust in the air, The system is designed in two levels of activations known as “first and second” stage alarms. Where two differently located detectors of different zone map need to be activated in an event of a fire. Firstly a detector will be activated on the first zone (first stage) and only if a second detector second stage) is activated then a countdown timer is started for the set duration and when the set time is elapsed, the gas will be released.
Advantages
Safe and environmentally friendly gas.
No cleaning of the area is required as there is no residue left by the gas which ensures critical
systems keep operating.
The systems can be applied to a variety of different areas including server rooms, switch rooms,
battery rooms and transformer rooms.
